DE-8 · Data & Enrichment · 300 XP · ~4–5 hours
This is the capstone for the Data & Enrichment track. Everything from DE-1 through DE-7 was building blocks. This is where you assemble them into a complete, production-ready data pipeline. What you submit will be reviewed by the Bitscale team. Passing submissions earn the Data & Enrichment Specialist certification.

What You’re Building

A complete data pipeline for a target market of your choosing. It must include:
  1. Data source documentation — which sources you used and why
  2. Source grid — 75+ contacts from your chosen ICP
  3. Cleaning layer — all 5 cleaning operations from DE-3
  4. Waterfall enrichment — 3-provider waterfall with master email + confidence score
  5. Company intelligence layer — firmographics, funding stage, tech stack, recent activity
  6. Contact scoring — fit score, timing score, composite score, priority tier
  7. Intent signal layer — first-party or third-party intent routing
  8. Sequence routing — each contact routed to the appropriate outreach tier
  9. Pipeline documentation — a 2-page brief explaining the full pipeline

Build Instructions

Step 1: Define your target market (30 min)

Write a one-paragraph definition:
  • ICP (industry, company size, persona)
  • Why this market? What problem does Bitscale solve for them?
  • What signals indicate they’re in-market now?

Step 2: Source your contacts (45 min)

Build a grid with 75+ contacts from your defined ICP. Document:
  • Which sources you used
  • Any filters applied (industry, size, title)
  • Starting data quality issues observed

Step 3: Apply the cleaning layer (45 min)

Run all cleaning columns from DE-3:
  • Name normalization
  • Title standardization
  • Company normalization
  • Email format validation
  • Duplicate detection
  • Data quality score
Document the number of records flagged at each stage.

Step 4: Waterfall enrichment (45 min)

Build the 3-provider waterfall from DE-2:
  • Provider A → Provider B → Provider C
  • Master email column
  • Email confidence column
  • Source attribution
Document fill rates by provider and overall.

Step 5: Company intelligence (60 min)

For all 75+ companies, enrich:
  • Firmographics (industry, size, HQ)
  • Funding stage + timing signal
  • Tech stack (3+ categories)
  • Recent activity summary
  • ICP fit classification

Step 6: Scoring model (30 min)

Apply the scoring model from DE-5:
  • Fit score
  • Timing score
  • Composite score
  • Priority tier (1–4)

Step 7: Intent layer (30 min)

Apply intent routing from DE-7:
  • Use your recent activity data as a proxy for intent if you don’t have a dedicated intent feed
  • Intent routing column
  • Combined fit × intent priority

Step 8: Sequence routing (15 min)

Final routing column:
  • high_priority_multichannel (Tier 1)
  • standard_sequence (Tier 2)
  • nurture (Tier 3)
  • no_action (Tier 4)
Document the distribution: how many contacts in each tier?

Step 9: Pipeline documentation (45 min)

Write a 2-page brief:
  • ICP definition and rationale
  • Source methodology and data quality observations
  • Waterfall design and fill rate results
  • Scoring model explanation and calibration plan
  • Intent activation strategy
  • What you’d do in Week 1 with this pipeline

Submission Checklist

  • 75+ contacts in source grid
  • All 5 cleaning columns with data quality scores
  • 3-provider waterfall with fill rate documentation
  • Company intelligence layer (all 5 categories)
  • Fit + timing + composite scoring columns
  • Intent routing column
  • Final sequence routing column with tier distribution
  • 2-page pipeline documentation
  • Grid is shareable
  • CSV export attached
